Technical University of Darmstadt Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Institute of Electric Power Systems, Institute of Electrical Power Supply with Integration of Renewable Energy (E5)
Chapter 2
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jutta Hanson studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of and received her Ph. D. in electrical engineering from the Department of Electrical Power Supply in 2000. Afterwards she joined the Electrical Systems Consulting Department at ABB AG in Mannheim, where she worked with analysis and planning of electrical networks. In 2004, she was promoted to lead the Transmission and Industrial Networks Group of the Electrical Systems Consulting Department.
In 2011, she was appointed as professor and head of the Department Electrical Power Supply with Integrating of Renewable Energies at Darmstadt University of Technology. Her scientific interests and research are primarily focused on dynamics and control of hybrid ac-/dc-transmission networks but also cellular distribution grids, taking into account flexibilities such as demand side management and storage technologies. From 2016 to 2018, she was Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Darmstadt University of Technology. She is a member of several professional committees and member of Acatech, the German Academy of Science and Engineering and the Mainz Academy of Sciences and Literature.
