Dr.-Ing. Berit Erlach

Dr.-Ing. Berit Erlach has been a scientific officer in the project office of the German academy project “Energy Systems of the Future (ESYS)” at Acatech (National Academy of Science and Engineering) since 2013. As part of ESYS’s science-based policy advice, she coordinates interdisciplinary working groups that identify policy options for the energy transition. Her subject areas include energy scenarios, flexibility, sector coupling, energy supply structure, raw materials, bioenergy, and digitalization. Previously, she worked as a research associate at the TU Berlin and wrote her doctoral thesis on bioenergy. After her graduation in energy and process engineering, she worked for three years in an engineering office in the fields of technical engineering and energy consulting.
