Gero Bieser received his doctorate in physics at the Technical University of Munich on photosynthetic reaction centers and how they convert solar energy into chemical energy. From 1997 onwards, he remained loyal to the topic of energy also at SAP, including the development of software solutions for utilities, consulting projects, and trainings for utilities in many parts of the world, as well as research on smart grids at SAP Research. As Chief Solution Expert in the SAP Industry Business Unit Utilities, he has been working in recent years on how new technologies used in asset management of power plants, electricity, and gas grids can contribute to the energy transition.
